MY IMPACT
Applied user feedback and engagement metrics to refine the design, ensuring every change solved a real problem and aligned with our business goals.
Led rounds of research and testing to rethink how media was shared, viewed, and sold—transforming a once-confusing feature into a familiar, scrollable feed that creators felt confident using.
PROBLEM
FIRST ITERATION
Sell media through webapp
SECOND ITERATION
Transform media in app

To share updates, engage with the community, and keep members informed.
Centralized all media—including content from group chats, free posts, and paid media—into a single, easy-to-browse space.
We preserved core features like video calls and livestreams under the Events tab—leaving room for future expansion into things like in-person events and merch.

View Insights
After launching the club profile redesign, we saw a significant boost in engagement. Creators were excited about a more structured way to share content, stakeholders were pleased with the updates, and revenue increased by 200% as more creators joined. User satisfaction also improved, confirming that we were moving in the right direction.
But within a month, as more creators joined, we saw flaws emerge in how Clubs were actually being used:
All of these issues pointed to a major theme: User Interface. At a fast-paced startup, we had to move quickly based on already used components and easy to code solutions. Although it resulted in minor setbacks in the feed and tab layout, it just confirmed that the concept of the app had potential, but it’s the UI focus that makes an app really take off.
I worked with our PM Kay to review the main issues above into more concrete UI issues and potential easy solutions to fix it.
FINAL ITERATION
Refining The Viewing Experience
One unified feed for all post types (free, paid, events)
Simplified tab structure: All vs. Locked (paid) content
Neutral, media-first design that adapts to any club brand
Club Profile At a Glance
Detailed Post View
A new look for events
Paid Media Insights
Create Post Flow
Informative Seeded Posts
Components + Grids
Since we don’t expect creators having more than 3 events at once, we wove it into the feed, positioning them to look more like ads
Creators can retrieve revenue insights about their locked posts and see the members who bought it
Easy toggle to list post for sale
Schedule feature for creators who plan their posts ahead
Comes with a story asset to help promote the club on social media
To support onboarding and avoid empty club feeds, we introduced seeded posts that educate and inspire creators from the start.
Added every part of this feature (and also the entire app) into our design system to ensure all components and styles are consist, and keep track of variants (including error states)
And as always, we kept our designs in a soft 8pt grid combined with columns structures screens in a way that’s flexible, yet logical to develop.
Unified feed that seamlessly combines free and paid posts, both allowing reactions and comments to encourage engagement

The Results
02 —
As much as I’d love to show you definitive numbers of how we succeeded, there was not enough staff to run the numbers on our data for this particular case study at the time. *sigh* So we relied heavily on user feedback and internal feedback for our app’s progress.
USER FEEDBACK
“The new club layout makes my page feel so much more premium and professional. It actually reflects my brand now.” - Creator X
“It’s so much easier to manage everything now. I don’t feel like I’m juggling too many features I don’t use.” - Creator Y
“I used to hesitate before subscribing, but now everything looks professional and put-together. It makes a difference.” - Member Z
Future Implementations
AI-powered content suggestions
To reduce the pressure on creators to constantly come up with new content ideas, we were eager to explore implementing AI tools that analyze top-performing posts and captions within each club. The goal: to offer smart suggestions and inspiration based on what resonates most with their audience.
REFLECTION
My Concluding Thoughts

02 —
I’d say I’m pretty happy with the results. Creators were making posts with great ease, there was less subscription complaints from members, and we had an a brand transformation into an elegant, trustworthy platform for Ultraviolet. In other words, I’d say we fulfilled our goal in creating a media-driven club profile that boosted engagement, provide clear subscription value for members, and give creators an easy seamless way to monetize media.
Key Takeaways
Emptiness kills engagement.
No matter how polished a layout is, if users encounter empty tabs or inactive content, the experience loses value fast. Seeded content, clear guidance, and consolidated design helped us avoid this trap and improve retention.
UI hierarchy shapes how people engage
I learned that layout alone can influence behavior. Even when the content was the same, placing media above text in the post design made creators more likely to share. A small shift in visual priority led to a big shift in usage.
OVERALL IMPACT
Designed a media-first UI that supported our business shift
Redesigned the Club Profile to prioritize media as the core driver of engagement and revenue, replacing a chat-heavy layout with one built for discovery, consumption, and monetization of creator content.
Iterated on structure to match how users actually behave
Led rounds of research and testing to rethink how media was shared, viewed, and sold. Transformed a once-confusing feature into a familiar, scrollable feed that creators felt confident using.
Huge thanks to the team that made it happen. At Ultraviolet, we turned a fragmented experience into a focused, media-driven product that served both our users and the business.
